Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made ceramic shells that are bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They are often used to improve the colour, shape, size or overall appearance of visible front teeth.
Veneers may be suitable for improving:
Porcelain is a strong, durable and natural-looking material. When carefully designed, veneers can blend beautifully with your smile while still looking like real teeth.

Porcelain veneers are not suitable for everyone, which is why a consultation is an important first step.
During your appointment, we will look at your teeth, gums, bite and overall oral health. We will also talk through your aims, whether you want a subtle improvement or a more noticeable smile transformation.
In some cases, veneers may be the best option. In others, treatments such as tooth whitening, composite bonding, orthodontics or crowns may be more appropriate. We will explain your options clearly so you can make an informed decision.
Both porcelain veneers and composite bonding can be used to improve the appearance of front teeth, but they work in different ways.
Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin, which is shaped directly onto the tooth. It is often a good option for smaller chips, minor reshaping or more conservative cosmetic improvements.
Porcelain veneers are custom-made ceramic restorations. They are usually stronger, more stain-resistant and longer-lasting than composite bonding, but they generally require more planning and, in some cases, some preparation of the natural tooth.
At your consultation, we can advise whether porcelain veneers, composite bonding or another treatment would be most suitable for your smile.

Every smile is different, so your treatment will be carefully planned around your teeth, your facial features and the result you would like to achieve.
Our aim is to create veneers that enhance your smile without making it look artificial. Many patients want a fresher, healthier and more balanced appearance while still looking like themselves.
Porcelain veneers can be designed to match your natural teeth or form part of a wider smile makeover. The final result will depend on your starting point, oral health, treatment goals and the number of teeth being treated.
Porcelain veneers can be used in a variety of cosmetic and restorative cases.
They may help patients who have worn teeth from grinding, cracked or stained front teeth, uneven edges or older dental work that no longer looks natural. They can also be used to improve the overall balance of a smile when carefully planned.
At your consultation, we can show suitable examples and discuss what may be achievable in your own case.
This lovely patient attended an Appointment requesting a night guard, as she had always been a tooth grinder. After a thorough examination to check the bite, we determined that there was severe wear to the front teeth from grinding causing irreversible damage. So we suggested using porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges and composite bonding to restore her natural smile and improve the bite.
This patient came in not happy with the look of her front teeth. The teeth had cracked and over time, stained. After discussing our options we decided to restore the teeth with porcelain veneers, to block out the dark colouring. Two appointments and some minimal enamel preps later we have some beautiful, natural veneers that fit perfectly into the patient's smile.
